I have had a great experience at ACA on 169 street. Doctor Eric has been wonderful, he has great technique and she is so nice. The treatments are comfortable and painless. I feel so much better. All the staff are great and overall I am so happy to have found them.

This place is close to where I live, so I decided to give it a try. After calling to make sure they take my insurance, the receptionist texted me from a number, so I could send her a picture of my insurance card and ID, which I found very awkward and should’ve seen as the first sign. After doing that, I received a reply that they do take my insurance. After asking how much the copayment is (because I’ve paid copayments for acupuncture before), she tells me there is none and that she'll explain it the day of my appointment (this is my second sign).
I arrived and was asked again for my insurance and ID, then she remembered having seen them. Gives me the paperwork to fill out, and I hear her calling the insurance. Once I submit the paperwork, she proceeds to “explain” the process.
She begins by praising my “very good insurance” (third sign) and then says that I have 2 options of payments; 1) give 850 dollars for the 20 sessions I’m covered by to meet the deductible OR 2) they could sign off that I’ve completed 3 sessions to meet the deductible so I don’t have to worry about the insurance coverage. When I asked her why the $850 if my insurance covers acupuncture, she wasn’t clear on her explanation and kept repeating the only two options she was giving me.
That’s when I realized they weren't in network with my insurance and were trying to rip me off anyway. Instead of doing their job by providing the information via email or over the phone, I wasted my time going there and listening to their nonsense in trying to get $850 from me.
I told her I was not comfortable giving this amount of money and that I wanted to try their services first; if I were satisfied, I would book more sessions. But this was not an option, so basically, if I didn’t pay the $850 or pay out of pocket, they wouldn’t treat me.
So please, be careful with this place.

I came to and discussed my issues. I got a proper assessment and I did not feel rushed even though I came towards the end of the day. I was experiencing intense pain. I felt like my concerns were heard. My concerns was address and she went overall to give me a proper rebalance. I appreciate on the focus on my issues plus additional acupuncture sites. I’m very impressed with their professionalism and dedication to their work.

i usually go to these locations at LMH or UES so i didn’t hesitate to book a massage and cupping appointment & the reviews do not reflect even close to my experience either this place has totally changed or it’s not the same one listed. i’m really sad to write this review because i’ve have great experiences at the other locations and also because my back feels even worse now. 1. she started with the cupping and when i asked her why she was doing it first she said “i don’t do,” and continues to do it. the cupping felt super unintentional & just placed them in random spots and not like any other cupping sessions ive had in the past. 2. the regular massage was not relaxing or comfortable and for about 59 minutes, i really wish i had just asked her to stop. at no point did i feel anything but awkward pressure with her forearms while she climbed all over me, sitting on me, and just basically applying pressure with her body and strangely contorting my limbs and joints. i told her after about 10 minutes that i preferred a regular style massage. (so now she’s rubbing oil all over my back after the cupping which isn’t supposed to get wet for 24hrs) this again, was very uncomfortable. i am very doubtful this person has any certifications or training in PT or massage therapy.
i really wish i could explain how bad this whole experience was because im dumbfounded by the current reviews. i will absolutely not recommend or go back even if the massages were free from the hospital insurance.
