My daughter begged me for karate classes and I was so happy to learn Takahashi was a traditional dojo with a flexible schedule. I knew it was a great fit before my daughter even finished her test class. Sensei Takahashi and Sensei Lisa are both wonderful with the kids. They strike the right balance between firm boundaries and a lighthearted manner, ensuring the kids are staying on task while also having fun. Takahashi Dojo is a very welcoming environment and a great place to learn both the physical and mental elements of karate. Highly recommend.
We were looking for a traditional dojo in town and a friend (their sons attend too) recommended Takahashi Karate Dojo. Our son quickly began to develop his skills under their tutelage and has passed many tests and climbed in belt ranking. We appreciate the sense of discipline he's learning from Sensi as well. Now our 5-year-old daughter is attending too. We highly recommend it!
I started sending one of my sons to this dojo in 2021 and the other in 2023, both when they were 6 years old. They have both consistently attended 2 classes a week, and both still really enjoy it. I highly recommend anyone interested in a dojo for their kids to go for the trial lessons offered.
What drew us to the dojo, and why it has been so beneficial for my sons, is the traditional and deep teaching which Sensei provides, given his vast experience.
