Johnstown Zen Do Kai was really a game changer for my child! She started karate at 8 years old, and she’s been hooked ever since. The skills, respect, and confidence that she has learned from this dojo could not have been taught anywhere else. The instructors are top notch, and the students look forward to classes each week. I can’t say enough good about Zen Do Kai, and we are forever thankful for its lessons

My daughter has been going to American Zen do Kai for the past three years now. I can't say enough about the training she has received so far. She has excelled and looks forward to the classes each week. Aside from teaching martial arts, Zen Do Kai teaches numerous important life values, such as respect, perseverance, loyalty, trustworthiness, and kindness. I see her using these values in and out of the dojo. Learning martial arts is an invaluable part of our daughter's life, and deciding on Zen Do Kai as her dojo was the smartest decision we could have ever made! I recommend them to any one who asks, and even some who don't

Its been a few years since taking our last class in Johnstown. We've moved twice, first to NYC then to rural Vermont, and have not found any kind of training opportunities that come close in terms of quality or value. The way AZDK teaches is a well proven model. Students learn to be patient and respectful as a starting point. They learn to focus on the task at hand and to work well with others so that everyone in the group improves. Most important of all, they learn to be honest with themselves. They learn to appreciate standards.
