I found Prissy on Yelp after trolling the internet in search of a stylist in Queens that does pixie weaves. I called and immediately got an appointment with Pricilla. The salon is in a nice area on Merrick Blvd. near shops and eateries. Inside the salon is bright and pleasantly decorated; and has Friendly vibes! Priscilla is welcoming and down to earth, she asks how you want your weave done and/or styled (all pictures are welcome!). I was a bit anxious because I do use 4 colors blended in my weave, but it was NO BIG DEAL to her, she understood and executed my weave beautifully! OMG, my "hair" came out soooo Good!! and I felt newly refreshed. **Warning**: you may get hooked on a particular YouTube series while visiting this salon. I aint tellin, you'll just have to visit.

I found Prissy on Yelp, and called for an appointment to do a kinky sew in. She asked that I have my hair washed, which is not a problem for me. Prissy was very fast which I love, since I hate sitting in the chair. We were in and out in about 3 hours, and she keeps great company. Very funny! Price was also super reasonable, 130 for a traditional sew in. Overall I had a great experience! I'll be back in two weeks to get my tracks tightened!

I Hi I havent had my hair braided in years but I was thinking of doing them again came to yelp because the place I went to was close came across prissy and was reading the reviews which I think was funny. Because she was the first person I called when I wanted to get my braid done. I had the same experience as most of the reviewer. No one was there when I arrived I had to wait 30 min over my appointment time. The lady apologized when she arrived but said she wasn't the braider Who when she called her told her that she didn't have a appointment for me but she would be there in 30 min. I was angry so I told the owner I would go get something to eat and instead of going back I found the little African place that took walk in got my hair done is 3 hours and it was prefect. Prissy is not professional and does not care about the clients.

I was so disappointed at my experience with this salon especially since I saw so many wonderful reviews. Because of the proximity to my house I walked in a the July heat the day before to make my appointment. I was told to.come at 10:30 the next day and was told to purchase hair since shop had just opened after COVID so they have no hair (that's fair). I called while on my way to.get hair to confirm how many packs I would need for the braids I needed and the information was provided. The next day I arrived at 10am. I knew I would have to wait and was ok with that since appt was at 10:30. I waited in the heat for 15 mins past my appt time before anyone showed to open the shop. The owner was apologetic. As she opened the gate she said she would have me talk to the braider who had also just arrived. The braider basically said nothing and the owner said that the braider did not do the kind of braids I wanted (feed in corn rows). I asked what she did braid and she said only box braids etc. I wish I would have been told that when I went to make an appt so I would not have rearranged my time and wasted my time. The owner told.me she was going to send me somewhere else where I would be seen and gave me directions to another salon and told me who to ask for...but didn't have a phone number for the salon so I could call and confirm. I did not want to risk going and have the salon be filled and not be able to be seen. Such poor communication and consideration for my time. I'm happy to see that so many had a great experience and the owner was indeed very pleasant but I don't think this was good customer service. I would love to give another shot but honestly hesitant.

I got box braids today and they were neat but the ends were notty. The lady was on time for my appointment but wasn't pleasant. This small shop didnt feel welcoming and prices were not clearly communicated. I wouldn't recommend because the communication is horrible and confusing. I paid $150 for box braids that were mediocre. You'll be better off finding a better shop with good hospitality and professionalism. Overall it wasn't a good experience

This is the best place in queens to get your hair done. I was weary of getting my hair done in queens , but this shop changed my mind.I have been going to prissy's for the last couple of years and i am really happy every time.Very talented, passionate and honest.

I can't say enough about this hidden gem. I live in Long Island and found it extremely hard to find a good salon near me to get the style I want. In this day and age when African American women have such versatility when it comes to hair, it is important to find a salon that not only have the ability to satisfy the customer, but also makes them feel comfortable and at home. I must say that the moment I walked in the door greeted by Ms. Rhoda, I felt at home! Ms. Prissy is very personable and friendly and has an awesome sense of humor. She made me feel so comfortable and removed some of the anxiety I had. After a disaster with another salon after growing my natural hair out to a length mid back below my shoulders, I have become very careful with choosing a salon. I asked for a cut and shape, but my hair was cut extremely short on the sides and long in the middle to look like some kind of Mohawk, which is not what I asked for at all! After searching for salons online, the pictures posted as well as the reviews prompted me to try Ms. Prissy's place. I called her and asked her if she could fit me in the following day, she was very accommodating. Since it was the first time that I was trying crochet braids, I was a bit scared to be honest. My concern with getting my hair braided was that it would be too tight, since my sides were short and I did not want my edges pulled so hard that they would break. Josephine was so soft spoken and gentle and braided my hair, tight enough to hold my crochet braids, but not so tight that I would suffer breakage or a headache. Truly an angel, thank you Josephine! I walked out of the salon, extremely pleased with my style and my hair. So no doubt I will be a regular customer from this point on. I am actually looking forward to my next style! During my time sitting getting my hair done, I watched Ms. Prissy install a weave on a client. I cannot believe what I saw, she slayed it, and did it quickly! I will definitely ask Ms. Prissy to do my next weave when I am ready. Thanks everyone for making my first experience at your salon as pleasant as it was. I will definitely be back for my next style.

UNREAL! I had an appointment at this place for 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon. First of all, the address listed on Yelp and their actual physical address are two different addresses. Upon finding the salon, THE GATES WERE DOWN and the owner had the audacity to tell me they were open when I'm physically standing outside she shop and it was CLOSED! I called the owner and text her a picture of her shop CLOSED! She never bothered to call me and ask me where I was or anything. This was a waste of an entire Saturday for me! I found this to experience to be very unprofessional and disrespectful to my time. Find somewhere else. Clearly the customers satisfaction is not a priority.
