I stopped cutting my own hair couple of years ago. After trying 3 barbershops, this place was the best and have been going there since. It's a clean, family and kids-friendly environment.
WAS IN TOWN FROM GEORGIA NEEDED MY BROWS ARCHED WAS REFERRED TO THE OWNER BUDDAH VERY GREAT RESPECTFUL FUN AND FAMILY GUY GREAT MUSIC YES OF COURSE HE HOOKED MY BROWS UP HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I was walking down Jamaica Avenue looking for a barber but to no avail. As you see I am female and most barber shops I stop in front of seemed so male dominated that I fear the approach. I would look into their window and then decide not to venture in. There was one shop that I even walked in and stood there for a moment and--no one acknowledged my presence so I left. So that evening I decided to try again. So I decided to go down Sutphin Blvd. and lo and behold there was this open and brightly lit barber shop. I again stood outside and looked through the large windows as the two barbers did their thing on their client's hair. Oh how I wished that I could get a haircut as neat and clean as the men. As I stood there looking through Buddha's Barber Shop window, the barber saw me and gave a welcoming gesture. This barber actually asked that I enter. I entered and shyly asked if he cut women hair and he said of course. After sitting in his chair, I felt relieved and secure enough to explain how I wanted my thinning hair cut and my desire for my graying edges not to be shaved into oblivion. Then I let the barber do what he did best. I eventually learned that I was sitting in the shop owner's chair. I was getting a haircut from Buddha himself. He made me feel comfortable and gave me the best cut to date. I would gladly recommend Buddha's Barber Shop to anyone looking for an enjoyable experience. Both Buddha and the barber at the far end of the shop are masters of their craft. Thumbs up!
