Some years back, a very good old friend of mine from college picked me up to go with her to have her hair trimmed... not too far from where I lived. The place turned out to be a 1 chair parlor inside a 1st Floor apartment building in Whitmey Ave, Elmhurst. A very neat and well kept apartment with a lot of plants and Sto Nino (Baby Jesus)icon. Small place but packed with customers...a good sign that the hairdresser must really be good. He turned out to be a good one....although I have my own hairstylist in the city who is also a good friend I ended up having Freddie cut my hair...and guess what ...I loved it.. He can really do wonders with anybody's hair. He certainly did a good job with Reggie.... My friend since moved to Las Vegas and I got tired of my short hair (Demi Moore hairstyle in Ghost) and grew it long.... Now I want a change....New Year....New style...but t I was told he moved and open his own legitimate salon in Roosevelt Ave,Jackson Heights in Queens. I passed by and checked out his place. Very impressive from where he was once.... Now I am debating whether to go and try him again or try this parlor in the city called Maria Mok recommended by fellow yelper Lynn.
