My name is Kevin I live in Cleveland,Oh and I am trying to settle my late father inlaws estate 350 miles away in Watertown ,NY. I found out this past Friday that the gas had been shutoff to his house and with thefreezing temps coming we needed a remedy fast to keep from dealing with frozen waterlines. After national grid turned on the gas I called Jim's to start the furnace and service it. unfortunately the furnace was 35 plus years old and a rusty piece of junk beyond repair. Jim's was kind enough to squeeze us into their packed schedule on 24 hours notice to winterize the property to avoid any frozen lines and water damage. Which has given us time to order a new furnace...read full review
We have used the services of Jim's Plumbing, Heating , and Electrical in the past and have always been extremely satisfied with their work and their professionalism. The employees are always prompt in arriving and are courteous and willing to explain what and why they did what they did. Jim senior ran a great business and shaped the business into what it is today. We have never questioned the bill and always felt that we were getting our money's worth. It is comforting to know that the people you hire are honest and trustworthy. Today I had an appointment to check my furnace. We noticed the house was getting cool and the furnace did not turn on. We had a lot of company for Easter and I believe my grandson probably turned the furnace switch off accidentally. The service man was at the house for about five minutes. I do understand that people do have to get paid for their time but my house is ten minutes from Henderson and the bill was more than eighty dollars ($80.00). That does seem excessive but I learned a lesson and will mark the switch better so it doesn't happen again. I will also ask how much they normally charge for a service call and how much they get paid per hour. I have faith in this business and recommend them very highly but will ask for an estimate before work begins. In my opinion you will not find a better contractor in the area.
I'm a retired construction company owner, and nearly impossible to please! I've used Jim's Plumbing for repairs at my home in Hounsfield, replacement of fixtures, and upgrades to plumbing, electrical, and heating. I've also used them for the 200 amp 3 phase entrance to my pole barn, and inside electrical and heating. They have never pushed me to spend more money, or for needless upgrades. Their billing has always been reasonable, and they do not hound you to get paid. In my opinion, they run their business the way an "old fashioned" business was meant to be run. When I do work at my properties, either I do it myself, or Jim's does it, no one else. I've probably had them on my properties 30 to 50 times, and, if I ever voiced a suggestion or complaint, we discussed it, and moved forward. They are the only company that I allow to work in my house when I am not present. I recommend them highly.
