Visitors have expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the grounds personnel, who have helped them find and clean up their loved ones' graves. The cemetery is known for being the resting place of several celebrities and well-known individuals, including Aaliyah Dana Haughton, Heavy D, Malcolm X and his wife Betty Shabazz, Tom Carvel, and Jam Master Jay from Run DMC. Overall, Ferncliff Cemetery is a serene and well-managed facility that provides a respectful and comforting environment for those visiting their departed loved ones.
We went to Ferncliff to locate a couple of grave sites and the staff could not have been more helpful. I would like to thank Daisy, Christina, Kathy and Super Mario for their kindness and help. Also, it is quite beautiful.
Not just a beautiful and peaceful place but the folks that take great care of it and the very kind office staff are incredibly warm and caring people. Just this past Monday we had stopped in to see my grandparents. It was nearly twenty minutes after closing yet the gentleman who was outside (he works in the office) was so thoughtful, unlocked the front doors and allowed us to go in! We had travelled an hour yet traffic caused us to take longer to get there. He knew we had came a ways and truly was about us touching base with our much loved loved ones. I cannot express enough how grateful and touched I am at the warm kindness this person made in my life. After going through some recent difficult times, the genuine extension of concern for others healed my woefulness. I will carry my gratitude for the staffs warm hospitality and thoughtfulness in my heart and will pass it on to others as needed. Thank you very much for the precious moments you had given us to visit my beloved grandparents! Have a Merry Christmas and healthy & blessed new year!
