I was in a rush to get a haircut and decided to stop in Myung Dong Beauty Salon just looking to clean up my hair a bit before I went to the city, and Stella did an awesome job. She was friendly, easygoing, and made sure to ask what I wanted before starting. Nothing felt rushed but it didnt take too long ether.
You can tell they’ve been around a while and take pride in their work. They gave me a cut that’s easy to manage and looks great without a ton of effort, which is exactly what I needed.
I’ll definitely be going back next time I need a haircut. Solid spot, good people. Ask for Stella.
Ah! I really want to give this place more stars but I don't think I can.. The owner is SUPER nice and friendly but when it comes to quality & price FOR ME, it just wasn't it. The place was easy to get to, just beware there are steps. My sister had an appointment to get a digital perm so I went & waited while she got it done. For her digital perm, the price point is definitely lower than normal ($250 for a cut and perm) and it took only 2 hours to get it done. The end result wasn't bad, very curly! We'll just have to see how long it lasts.. No one else was there- not busy; she had one person while we were waiting ( a man who got a cut & wash for $50). Anyways, while waiting she kind of "coerced" me (kept asking) to get a haircut while waiting. I looked up the prices online and it said it was only $30-35 so i thought why not; my mistake. She took less than 10 minutes to give me a mediocre haircut & curled my hair with a straightener, and when I gave her $35, she said it's $50. She barely gave me a trim and charged me the full price. that left a bad taste in my mouth to be honest.. the haircut wasn't worth $50 and to charge me that much after i only got a trim is a bit "scammy". Not worth it, esp the drive out to Flushing from Jersey.
I came in as a walk in. Was slow at the time when I arrived so I was greeted and started my haircut rightaway. I had my hair washed and when I say that the worker that washed my hair was able to take away the stress I had from work (I work at JFK Airport super densely busy atm) she was able to let me relax.I nearly fell asleep a couple of times due to all my stress being relieved overall the head wash was the biggest selling point for me. The male barber did cut my hair a bit too short of what I asked but I did liked how I looked at the end so overall a pretty good place to get a hair cut. The price was about 25 with the wash and cut so not too bad given with the experience...read full review
