I have been going here for 25 years, to the owner Mrs Song. No matter where I move to (borough or state), I always return here; no other place can give me that effortless chic look.

My mother and I have been going to Petite Petite for our hair for over 10 years, and it's never been a disappointment. The owner, Miss Song trained in Korea and knows how to cut Asian hair very well and knows the current trends in hairstyles. I used to think that she tried to push hair products, but on my last visit she was extremely honest and frank about what would work for my hair type. My mom kept insisting that maybe a perm would help my bangs stay lofty but Miss Song said that there was no point in paying for a perm because it wouldn't help. Miss Song is very sociable and remembers her clients well. In regards to possible backhanded subtle insults that she may make, I think she's pretty funny and this behavior is quite common in the Korean industries/community. She does charge $ 35 for a haircut, which isn't cheap but I'd take it because I know that the cut looks good. However, i do draw a line at that price. Any more increases in price and I'd go looking elsewhere or convince my mom to go to a hairstyling school for a hobby. Oh and this is a Korean salon, I am fairly sure that she could communicate well in English but everyone speaks in Korean in the salon.
I have been getting my haircut here for years. I get a different stylist every time and it has always been AMAZING. There is a bit of a language barrier, but these women know their stuff when it comes to hair. I think the price of 35 for a haircut is super fair, especially for the quality of cut and style. My hair always feels so nice and healthy when I walk out of here. I now live in the SF bay area but come here every time I am in NY. Ive had 100 dollar haircuts that dont compare!
