This is a scam. I went to my appointment and once I got there (it was noted no where prior) I was required to agree to a virtual exam. I was extremely confused on why I needed a virtual exam when I was in the office. The person explained that a tech sets everything up and then the doctor calls in on a zoom call. How does that make any sense?!? I am not driving to your office to have a doctor call in when I'm paying for an in person visit!
Also, be very careful what you agree to on their forms. They require you fill out a complete medical history of things that don't relate to an eye exam, including questions about your mental health. One of the forms then requests permission for them to share your data with anyone they want from that point forward. Simply put, waiving all of your HIPPA rights.

Last visit was Feb of 2024. Had a virtual exam. I spent almost a year with the wrong prescription glasses. Finally went to the Eye Care Center in Canandaigua. Got a exam by a doctor in person. Although they would not bad mouth Sterling Optical ? They stated these the current glasses are not correct ? After a proper eye exam I'm seeing much better. Thank you Eye Care Center.

It has been 5 months since my original exam. I have lost track of how many times they have made me come back in. I still do not have a glasses or contacts prescription. The first exams were done virtually, and incorrectly. It wasn't until I had an exam with the owner that he realized the virtual doctors had the wrong prescription for me. No wonder none of the trial contacts worked. Now that I have an updated prescription, they have been incredibly slow to get me new trials and ordered the wrong brands. They have now stopped returning my calls or answering my emails. They will not provide me my new prescription, so I can't order new glasses or contacts. I have wasted my insurance benefits on their services and I now have to pay out of pocket to get another exam elsewhere. My husband also had a bad experience, where they had the wrong prescription for him as well.

Fantastic experience. Danielle and the entire team were very patient and professional. Had a prescription from a different place and had the glasses done here. Wore them for a week, or tried, and went back. Adjustments were tried, they replaced a missing nose thing for free, adjusted other things also. Had to go back. Better but not right. Glasses were made to the rx. I opted to have it done here at Sterling. I had been here years ago when I lived in the area and now am back. Awesome exam. I think it was Tammy. As with everyone there great personality. New glasses came in and it is so nice to be able to read etc. Tri focals in existing frames that are old. Any how I recommend this place for sure. Lenses were 40% less here than other places. Thank you.

For and older woman needing glasses for the first time and very confused about the process they were so attentive and caring. I was made comfortable during my exam and he even took time to help me pick out my first pair of glasses which took a while. I am very happy I went with this place! Great experience!

As an older woman having had perfect vision her whole life all of a sudden needing glasses was a horrible disappointment. They scheduled me very quickly to get an eye exam, when I got there they were very attentive and made me feel comfortable during the whole process answering any questions I had and giving me information I didn't even think about asking for. It was excellent service from walking in, through the exam and when they helped me pick out glasses in my price range and gave honest opinions on how it looked. I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! Can't wait to get those glasses and see again!!

Thank you so very much for your assistance with this request to email my prescription. Your help will be a tremendous help to me - I am here in Arizona because my daughter had complications with a surgery and is now on her 4th week - unable to walk or drive. It was a nerve complication that was unrelated to the original problem, but she is totally dependent on my assistance.I knew that I have needed prescription glasses for some time, but have been able to make do while at home. Here, in Phoenix, I am driving in an unfamiliar city, and couldn’t even read the street signs. Glasses will be a true blessing to both of us.Thank you to the real good people that work at Sterling Optical (looking at you, Danielle) and God bless you all.
