[solidcore] offers a unique and challenging workout experience in Brooklyn, New York. Inspired by Pilates, their resistance-training workout uses the [sweatlana] machine to target the upper body, lower body, and core, building muscular strength and endurance. With a focus on slow and controlled movements, each exercise is designed to push muscles to failure, yielding impressive results. The studio has 19 machines, lockers, and a water fountain, but no showers or sweat towels. Classes are led by knowledgeable and passionate instructors who provide a judgement-free environment. While it may not be ideal for cardio or arm workouts, [solidcore] is great for core and lower body exercises. Recently, some changes to the studio have been met with mixed reviews. Feedback indicates that the renovations did not improve the space, with a smaller coat rack now causing issues in foot traffic and limited surfaces for personal items. However, the enthusiastic instructors continue to receive praise, especially Coach Virginia, who provides clear explanations and constructive feedback, making first-timers feel confident. Although the sliding pads can be challenging to manage, the overall experience remains tough yet rewarding, helping individuals unleash their inner strength.
