About Physical Culture Brooklyn

Physical Culture Brooklyn is a gym that champions the return to a physical culture in a world dominated by screens. They teach timeless principles for building a strong, healthy body and mind, believing that when you feel your best, you perform your best. The gym has been praised by members for its incredible community, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional coaches like Zack, June, and John. Members have experienced remarkable transformations, both physically and mentally, through the gym's programming and support. Members appreciate the personalized approach, working with coaches who create tailored exercise programs based on individual goals. The gym offers a great selection of equipment, mainly focusing on free weights, which many prefer over machines. There are also some cardio machines like rowers, ski erg, and assault bikes available. The friendly and attentive atmosphere fosters a positive environment where clients and coaches alike are eager to help and motivate each other. One member, a former professional performer, found that the programming and June's guidance helped them reimagine their relationship with movement, body composition, strength, and BJJ training, leading to a newfound sense of well-being and confidence. Another member, Steve, has seen incredible progress with personalized routines that helped him increase his bench press from 135lbs to 205lbs and deadlift from 145lbs to 315lbs, all at 6 reps max. Many members note that the coaches are genuinely interested in their clients' success, providing advice and motivation during workouts. The energy on the floor is motivating, and everyone leaves feeling accomplished, tired, and happier. Overall, Physical Culture Brooklyn is a transformative space that fosters a strong community, expert coaching, and a commitment to helping members feel and perform their best through consistent effort and support.

As a dancer, OPEX has helped me with my endurance, strength, and mobility. My program is designed perfectly to reach my goals and since joining I’ve gained muscle, lost fat, I feel great, and I’m more lean than I’ve ever been. I’m thiiiiiis close to doing my first unassisted pull-up and my butt is more firm. I apply what I learn in the gym to dance. I’ve been more purposeful with my movements and focused on my breathing. The best part though is the people. The community is supportive and engaging, Ares is the cutest dog in the world, and the coaches are always dropping knowledge. They’re educated, know how to explain things so I understand, answer all of my questions, and always make me laugh.
