About FABSCRAP Brooklyn Warehouse

FABSCRAP Brooklyn Warehouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to reusing textile waste. They offer convenient fabric pickup services for NYC businesses and provide a space for the local creative community to engage in fabric reuse. Located in a warehouse accessible via the N/R subway lines and several bus routes, FABSCRAP offers a unique shopping experience. Customers can browse a wide variety of fabrics, including by-the-yard options sorted by type, scrap fabric sold by the pound, and salvageable clothing also sold by the pound. The warehouse boasts a treasure trove of materials, including buttons, elastic, leather, and fur pieces. Shoppers can find remnants of various brands like Madewell and J.Crew, perfect for upcycling and repurposing projects. FABSCRAP also welcomes volunteers to assist in the sorting and processing of donated materials. While the warehouse can be a bit challenging to reach, the vast selection of fabrics and unique finds make the journey worthwhile. Be sure to follow the directions provided on their website, as they differ from those generated by Google Maps. It's recommended to wear comfortable shoes and consider bringing a mask, as the environment may contain dust and allergens.

They have a huge and very affordable selection of fabrics, leather, yarn, clothing, etc. It's the perfect place for local crafters. There are also volunteer opportunities available on their website.

There is free parking for cars and bikes. I would recommend looking at their instructions on their website. They are located on the 5th floor of Building B. It might not look like you can walk around on the first floor, but you're fine.

The volunteers were extremely kind, Alicia was helping introduce me to the resources they have. They do have a limited selection but I found what I needed. The prices were amazing and it feels great to rescue fabrics from landfill. I got 2 yards of fabrics, 5 zippers, some thread, and more for just 13 dollars. I am going to be making two canvas pencil cases with zippers and a lined tote bag. Wish me luck!
