Volunteered at FABSCRAP in Bay Ridge and had such a great experience. They work with companies to keep fabric scraps out of landfills, sorting through about 6,000 pounds a week, which is pretty amazing.
The shift was about 3 hours, the staff was super friendly, and the music made it really fun. You also get to take home up to 5 pounds of fabric after, which is such a cool perk if you’re into anything crafty.
Highly recommend checking this out if you’re looking for a unique and meaningful volunteer opportunity!

yes this place is a real store! no they dont let you park in the park in the parking lot. yes its amazing here. you should follow the instructions in the google description to find it in the 5th floor (H zone) yes they have a huge selection. seems really fun to volunteer here. everyone was so nice!! and its clear they run a tight ship. i will absolutely come here again! they have very reasonable prices and some pay what u want! I LOVE FAB SCRAP
