Barry is a wonderful barber who is very communicative over the phone and in person. I stopped by for a haircut for a special event last week. Barry is a true professional as a barber. He is great with customer engagement and gives the best haircuts. It cost only $18 which is very affordable. Barry gives life advice as well. If you're looking for a great barber choose Barry's the barber shop. Highly recommended.
Been going to Barry's (Boris) for a year know and have taken my young son several times, too. They are great with little kids there, some other barbershops in the area wouldn't cut his hair, but Barry's took him and did a good job. No frills, bare bones barber shop, $17 for a cut (2023-2024 prices). I used to go to a fancy place but I can't say there is much difference in the quality of the cut.
I'm in need of a haircut BAD. My former barber has moved on to Manhattan, so I go to my trusty Yelp and see some great write-up's about this place. So over the bridge I go to Brooklyn. Luck has it that there's a spot right in front There only one guy in the seat so I'm in the chair in ten minutes. The conversation has settled on health, with someone's mother being diagnosed with cancer. So we proceed to chat about alternative medicine. The barber, whose name I find out later, is Igor. He is quite knowledgeable and I remark about the wisdom found in the old barber shop. We cover a lot of information and Igor proceeds to give me a great haircut. I'm a few minutes like around 3 the place is packed with folks coming in. The conversation switches to the war in Ukraine. Most of the people are from Belorussia. Not fans of Mr Putin one bit. Delightful experience. Talking about intermittent fasting and supplements ends the visit. I'm invited back every week by the owner just to chat and impart knowledge. Great time believe it or not on a barber shop!!
