The business really took care of my family during difficult time. Service for my father in law who passed away unexpectedly was simple but every detail was taken care of. They were flexible and very understanding regarding the cost and payment, and waited a significant amount of time for the bill to be paid. There was no added penalties or interest. Thank you for making this whole experience just a little bit easier

Recently my partner of 23 years passed on December 20th 2025. We received excellent service. The prices were very good. We were able to also purchase an urn that was engraved. Kurt, the owner, help me with the paperwork and also called the cemetery that Marcus J Snowman was to be interred. Kurt was very professional and was able to help with this difficult time. Even with the holidays.

Hopler and Eschbach is the absolute best! They quoted me a very reasonable amount based upon what was needed for our unique request and situation. Other funeral homes quoted us three times that amount. From my initial outreach, Kurt was so helpful, kind and knowledgeable - he truly went above and beyond to answer questions I had. He offered great information that was super helpful, in which I would've never known to even ask about. He had numerous wonderful suggestions and ideas for special touches. Very professional, responsive and always one step ahead of everything to ensure all was seamless and went perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I cannot thank you enough Kurt, as well as the team at H&E, for everything. They are fabulous at what they do and they absolutely genuinely care for their clients and try to make things easier on them. They are not out to charge unreasonable fees to benefit off of a sad situation that one can find themself in (unlike some of the other places in the area that I'd spoken with). They were very flexible with their pricing based upon my situation in that we were doing just the burial in NY after having the funeral in a different state. A couple of other funeral homes wouldn't budge on their pricing regardless of our unique situation....they were going to charge the same pricing for a burial as they would charge for a whole funeral and burial (regardless of the fact that we'd already had a funeral out of state and would not need to have a funeral).

When my husband passed recently after several hospitalizations, Kurt was compassionate and caring. He helped us through the process to have the funeral my husband wanted. When we arrived for calling hours, my husband looked like he did 10 years ago. I highly recommend Kurt and his staff for anyone going through this difficult time. They make it much easier. Thank you Kurt.

I highly recommend Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home if you are in search of a funeral home that provides exceptional personal service. We worked mainly with Ben, and in every instance we found him to be kind, respectful, considerate, and willing to go the extra steps to ensure our experience was exactly what we wanted.
For example, we were able to view several urn options at the funeral home. We liked one of the urn options on display, but we didn't need the full size urn (we were choosing to keep only a small portion of cremains and scattering the rest). Ben advised us that a smaller version of that urn was available (it is referred to as a 1/4 size urn). We did not know this could be done, so that was very helpful information. When Ben went to the urn catalog to order the 1/4 size urn, it was not listed in the catalog. We felt a moment of dismay, but Ben assured us that he knew the smaller size urn was available, and he picked up the phone and called the vendor to secure the urn that we wanted. We felt this was a wonderful example of his responsiveness and customer service oriented focus on our needs.
Another great example of Ben's pro-active approach to a special request was in regard to the registry book we chose. We held a celebration of life and love gathering for our loved one, and we wanted the details from that celebration (i.e., the poems read, honored pictures, the musician performance details, the order of the performance program, etc.) included in the registry book. The registry book we chose had some pre-printed pages that included bible verses and religious sentiments, and though those items are lovely things to have in the registry book, they were not what we wanted (we are spiritual, but do not follow a formal religious practice).
Ben advised us that he thought blank pages could be ordered from the vendor so that we could format them with our own particular details (i.e., the celebration of life and love details such as poems, pictures, etc.). So once again Ben picked up the phone and called the registry book vendor to see if blank pages could be ordered. They could be ordered! So Ben ordered them, and he then formatted them with all of the details that we wanted. We sent him the details (poems, pictures, etc.) electronically (via email). Ben removed the bible / religious pages, and inserted our custom designed pages in their place. We cannot express enough how much this very personal gesture mattered to us (at an extremely vulnerable time of our lives).
Every email communication that we had was read and answered timely and professionally.
We have included some photos of some of the details written about so that other folks can get a sense of how pleased we are with Ben (and Kurt) of Hopler Eschbach Funeral Home.
