Over the last couple years, I’ve been a client of Bangz on and off. I’ve tried 3 stylists in total all wonderful, the last being Cat Erkl. She was the stylist I felt really understood what I wanted as it translated in the outcome each time she did my hair. She is the stylist I’ll be writing this review about.
I had an apt for a haircut and toner on 2/11/ 23. I’ve waited a couple days before writing this review because I didn’t want to write an emotional review, I want this review to be as objective as possible.
As a mother of two small children, a wife and a registered nurse I can tell you time at the salon; getting pampered, having uninterrupted time to read is always a treat and something that doesn’t happen often so it’s something I always look forward to.
This past Saturday was anything but pleasant. I want to emphasize that my reason for writing this isn’t because I’m trying to be petty. My intention is to prevent someone else from having to endure my same experience.
I arrived to my apt 8 minutes late, Cat greeted me with a smile, lead me to her chair and asked me what we were doing today. I said a toner for the balayage she did this past November because the color was naturally becoming a little brassy and a haircut. She then guided me to the washing area. I was on the phone, and she waited till I got off to get started, I apologized for holding her up.
She put the toner in my hair and told me she'd leave it on a couple minutes, I suggested her leave it on a couple additional minutes. I reminded her that when she did the balayage in November the color was a bit too yellow, and she left the toner on a bit longer; she ignored my request but I didn’t give it too thought since I was engulfed in reading my book. when the toner and wash were done I'm told to go sit at Cat's chair and we caught up with all the small talk subjects we’ve touched on in the past. I’m a very private person. I’ve never used Cat as a “therapist “she knows nothing of my personal life aside from me being a wife, mother, nurse, I enjoy the show Yellowstone and I’m on my 10th Colleen Hoover book. I was intermittently silent because I was focused on reading. When I glance up I noticed she was blow drying my hair, I asked “did you already cut my hair?” she said no I’m going to cut your hair dry – I asked “ wont it look choppy if you cut it dry ? she added that “last time I cut your hair I did it half wet /half dry. I responded, “oh ok I don’t remember”. I continued reading my book…. When all was done, she gave me the mirror to look at the back; I asked her to please give me some more layers and to make my curtain bangs a little shorter too. After she was done she gives the mirror once again, I look and love it. I say thank you and then ask what the service is to help me blend my grey that are just at my hair line she responds it’s called a “ glaze”. I said great ok so I’ll make an apt with you in three weeks for my birthday for a glaze… CAT ERKL – proceeds to say “actually moving forward, I can’t do your hair anymore, I don’t think were the best fit” I was stunned! there were other people close by and listening and looking in our direction, it was embarrassing. I asked her “why?! I don’t understand” she proceeds to start recommending other stylists by name and then I literally say “I’m stunned, why can’t you do my hair anymore? I don’t understand “ she says loudly; “we are just not a good fit, we don’t VIBE” at this point I swear I’m so confused. I ask “did I say something to upset you? She said “no, I just don’t think I can make you happy” I said “Cat, I am happy, very happy with my hair.. is it because I asked for more layers ?!” she shrugged her shoulders and said “well, I’m sorry were just not VIBING” this experience was humiliating, unwarranted, and ridiculously unprofessional. You could imagine my frustration, I finally answer her saying “we are not friends, we don’t have to Vibe I’m paying for you to do my hair and I’d like to speak with your manager”. She said “ok” and disappeared to go get the manager or so I thought. I w

I must say that this was the not just a facial but serious skin care. I was very impressed that I was asked so many questions about my skin before we started. She was very knowledgable and professional. I'm a huge fan of organic/natural products and Eminence is top shelf. The results were amazing. I would definitely refer people here! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the spa is in a busy salon and you have to valet park. I'm not a fan of valet parking so I had to park 2 blocks away.

Never had microdermabrasion or a facial before. I had been in the intense sun for a week with sunscreen. I felt like one big clogged pore. I went for a facial and after Maria explained a microderm to me and I decided to try it. BRAND NEW FACE!!!! I could not believe how my skin looked and felt. Maria was very professional and gave me a lot of information I did not know on skin and skin care. The facility is clean and the Facial room relaxes you instantly. I fell asleep during the facial part. I highly recommend Maria and the professional services she gives.
