Had an inspection 3 years ago. I will briefly mentioned what was missed that should have been easily seen and cost us thousands. The" brand new " Central Air system had ripped duct work therefore all had to be replaced. It was easily seen if you just inspected the duct work. There was little to no insulation in the attic costing us hundreds in heating oil and kept our family with a new born freezing in the winter. Ant infestation in the house. The nests were easily visible in the unfinished exposed portion of the basement.

Just wanted to let you know that Charley Butt seemed to be right about his assessment of our home, in terms of where/why we were getting water coming in and flooding my first floor-which we finally noticed after Hurr Sandy came into our house and then we again saw water in the noreaster that followed in November and apparently many times over the past 5 yrs. Per engineer report and recommendations we had the window and door re-installed and put siding on the house to correct improper construction/installation from the construction work we had done, and we have not seen water come in ever since. I'd give the home inspection itself a 5-star, the price a 4-star, and their trading of your personal information to others a 1-star. The engineer was very courteous and very thorough. He was eager to get and answer questions, and was talking though everything he saw and why it was designed that way. I learned a lot about the house I hadn't known before, like plumbing layout and security. While I had thought a home inspection would take less than two hours, we spent more than three hours, which in my opinion was good since it was not rushed.
