Walked in on a random Sunday evening during my search for dinner. My old place in the city had closed down it seems and my eyebrows were in dire need of help. Kati was chilling outside on the stoop and ushered me in warmly, sat me down, told me to relaxxx. She very quickly evened out my eyebrows and astutely remarked- eyebrows are so important now, with everyone masking. Very true. Best $5 spent on five minutes ever. Def just hand her $10. Your eyebrows are so prominent on your face, and she did a good job. :)

The women here are VERY friendly and sweet. I came here for the first time about two weeks ago and found this salon through a Groupon offer I had purchased. The reason why I am only giving 3 stars is because of a couple of reasons. First let me preface this by saying: I never go to the salon to get manicures (I typically do my own manicures and only go to the salon for pedicures). However, I decided to get a manicure this time because I was celebrating my engagement and going on a cruise to the Caribbean that week with my fiancee and I really wanted my nails to look pretty and colorful with designs. So when I arrived at the salon, I was really excited and had expectations. First, when I walked in the AC was not working, they had fans (it was July so I was sweating). Anyways, I only planned on staying for an hour or two so it didn't bother me at first. I moved on and picked out my nail color, sat down and got my pedicure done (which was AMAZING). Next strike: At the end of my pedicure, the lady tells me that she does not do designs! I was so heartbroken because I really wanted palm trees or turtles or something tropical on my nails like the ones I'd seen on pinterest! This was something I was researching for weeks so at this point I am really sad. A couple minutes later, a co-worker of hers comes in to do my manicure. She attempted several times (over an hour) to do a cruise anchor for me which was VERY sweet. In the end, the design was okay, but it was very clear that it was done amateurly. Overall, the women here are very nice people but I'd probably only go back here for simple nails (like french/single color/no designs). Not for wedding nails or anniversary or anything of the sort.

I been here numerous times for my brows. Ruby has always had my brows looking good. I was working in area a few months ago and the location was closed. I emailed them and no reply. I use to go to another spot down the block by Rite Aid before finding Elegant Girl and they closed as well. I worked on Steinway for 4 years and been to a few spots but in the last yr when I was working elsewhere in the area, I would go to Ruby when I needed them done. Another spot above Taco Bell does good brows haven't been their since the lady who did mine left and the management changed.
