“I had a home generator installed a couple of years ago, and so I interviewed several electrical contractors in the process who would oversee the acquisition and installation of the generator and to additionally coordinate the necessary permitting, electrical modifications and gas line plumbing. Dwayne is the owner of Switch Electric and stood out to me as the only company where the owner came to assess the project personally and to provide an estimate which I found to be fair and very competitive. His wife, JoAna kept me closely updated as to permitting, any delays and installation timeline so that I could schedule against my other commitments. My electrical panel required updating in order to properly accommodate the additional electrical loads, and this was anticipated and included in the original bid (which interestingly was absent in a competing bid where an obviously less experienced and knowledgeable person was sent). Ultimately, the gas plumbing was done followed by the final generator and electrical panel installation, all which were seamlessly and expertly executed. I additionally decided to have Switch Electric provide the yearly maintenance as well as to provide real-time monitoring of the day to day generator activity and functioning. I am confident that Switch will keep my generator, which is in itself a large capital expenditure, running smoothly so that I can have the confidence that neither the generator nor Switch Electric will abandon my family should an emergency or urgent issue with the generator function arise.

This past fall, I decided to replace the electrical panel at our home at Lake Tahoe for safety issues as the current panel was dated back to the original construction fifty years ago. I again considered several bids, and although Dwayne was not the only owner who came to assess the panel, he was the only one to provide a comprehensive estimate and so my confidence in Switch Electric was reinforced by the professionalism and courtesy of providing an all-in total for materials, permitting and installation so that there were no $$ surprises. Also, I believe and trust Dwayne's word that although this home is in Incline Village, Switch would provide any electrical fixes should any electrical issues arise in the future. “I had recently purchase a sauna for my house. However, after completing the build process of the sauna, the sauna heater needed to be professionally installed by a licensed electrician. So, my friend who was helping me build it, called Allied Electric, inc. and talked to somebody in the office. What I didn’t expect was for them to be available to come take a look at it that same day and rather quick as well. I needed them to give me a quote on how much it would cost to hardwire the sauna heater (it’s an 8kw heater) to my house.

Alex Maclean (the electrician) came out to my house and was super friendly and very personable, awesome guy and very knowledgeable in his field of expertise. He explained everything very simple and gave me an estimate that day. Of course, the estimate he gives his clients may of course fluctuate by the end of the job being performed, be it extra materials, unforeseen and/or unexpected whatever it may be. However, he told me he would give his thoughts to his boss and get back to me via email with a quote.

Later I got the email with the estimated quote for two electricians for 6 hours to install and hardwire my sauna heater (which was lower than what we had expected). And they said they could come out just 3 days after my initial call and same day quote. That is impressive.

So, three days later, they showed up on time and completely ready and equipped to do the work and finish the work that day. Not only did they do a fantastic job hooking up and hardwiring my sauna heater to my house. They finished the job flawlessly in, get this, HALF the time they estimated. So, that in itself, speaks volumes.

Alex and his partner work for Allied Electric. They put in the time and effort to learn and train for their skill trade and it shows. Alex is an impressive electrician. He knows what he’s doing and he does immaculately. Need I say more.
