I've lived in Reno for 15 years and I believe Genesis has been here for that long also...please don't quote me on that..lol. BUT I have seen it for years and years and have always been curious. Always searching for a new hairstylist that knows what to do with curly hair, I thought I'd take a chance. First off, the prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!! You can pay for a newer stylist for less money and work your way up to "expert" stylist. Now why would I want the newbie? I chose the middle of the road and had a full weave and cut. I was assured when I made the appointment that my stylist (I'm sorry, I cannot remember her name) was an "expert" on curly hair. The weave took 3 hours!! The color was pretty cool and I was happy with that. The cut on the other hand...not so much. It looked fine when I left, but I could not even come close to doing it the way she did the next day. It was always really frizzy and just odd looking. Then the color bled onto my blond highlights and when I called to have it fixed, it would cost me! I've never been charged for that anywhere else! The total cost you ask? $315!!! I was shocked to say the least! She also never really spoke to me and there was almost complete silence everywhere. How boring for 3.5 hours! Not worth the money whatsoever!

Buyer Beware. I had my hair chemically straightened (Japanese hair straightening) here it the results were dreadful. I went in, had a consultation and was advised by the stylist that she could straighten my hair, that it would be no problem. I made an appointment, paid $450 and the results I got were anything but straight. True she did relax some of my curls, but my hair was nowhere NEAR straight. Having had the procedure a couple years ago, I knew what a good result was. What I received was a half-a** job. I was very disappointed, I wrote a letter to them explaining the reasons for my dissatisfaction - they never responded. I wish I had read some reviews before I made an appointment.
