If you want QUALITY done right, Brown and Read are excellent. You WILL have to pay for what you get. If you want low cost, quick, slap it in, you will not be happy. They are... slow... and methodical... and (relatively) expensive. And worth every penny. They actually engineer what they do. We had them remove/decommission 2x AC units (3 tons each) and 2x gas furnaces (combined rated output 157,000 BTUs) and replace that with ONE 4 ton heat pump (rated max output 48,000 BTUs), as well as tear out and replace our horrible existing ductwork. Excellent, experienced, knowledgeable customer service over the years. Brad and Joe are extremely reliable and friendly. We had worked with other companies prior to being referred to this engineering group - these guys are the best.

Our Tahoe summers are getting hotter, and with wildfire smoke more prevalent our research concluded that a ductless heat exchange system was the way to go. Mitsubishi has the most mature product line, so we reached out to each of the preferred local vendors listed on their website. Ultimately we selected Brown & Read because we felt their engineering orientation and commercial project experience ensured a more thoughtful, competent install for us.Gary (sales) and Brad (install) managed our Mitsubishi Mini Split 4-zone project installation.
