Ortho Las Vegas offers and great overall experience! The front desk staff was helpful . The doctor was fantastic, taking time to explain the upcoming knee replacement , listen to my concerns, and ask thoughtful questions. I also appreciated the opportunity to get a heads up on the financial responsibilities. The only downside was the wait time. I had to wait over an hour to see the doctor, However, the care and professionalism I received made it worth the wait. Highly recommend .

The short story: Dr. McGee cured the pain in my knee! He and his staff are wonderful. They listened to my concerns and took the time to explain things. The long story: After limping around with excruciating knee pain for two months, I finally got a referral to see an orthopedic specialist. I called Ortho Las Vegas and got an appointment for that afternoon! PA Samantha looked at my X-ray, prescribed Meloxicam (wonder inflammatory), and had me come in the next week once I had an MRI. The MRI showed a lateral meniscus tear and some arthritis. Samantha explained all my options, from do nothing all the way to total knee replacement. For my particular case, she recommended an arthroscopic meniscus trim and platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy. Two weeks later I was in surgery! I was a little nervous going into surgery, so I joked with Dr. McGee, "I'm guessing you've done about a thousand of these surgeries." He corrected me and said that he recently crossed the 2500 mark! That's a lot of knees fixed! PA Jake also reassured me and put me at ease. I woke up from the anesthesia and I swear my knee already felt better. I went home, took a long nap, and got out of bed with little effort. My husband was shocked to see me walking down the hall without a cane or crutch. I was limping, but I felt better than I had in two months. It has been 19 days since the surgery and I am mostly walking without a limp. Physical therapy helps a lot. It's not my knee that bothers me so much as the muscles around my knee which have been compensating. I can't run yet and stairs are a bit challenging, but I'm getting closer to normal every day. Does PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy work? Well, I think it's working for me. It was quite expensive and insurance doesn't cover it, but I decided to invest in my knee, especially given the pre-existing arthritis. Dr. McGee says the PRP is probably why I'm healing so quickly. If my other knee starts to bother me, I would probably do PRP sooner rather than later. Thank you, Ortho Las Vegas! I am grateful for the excellent care that I have received and I am delighted to have returned to the pain-free lifestyle.
