"Artisan" is a classic word now overused to brand bread and cheese. But Rick and his team at GVS are actual artisans; artisans create something useful and the usefulness is as important as the aesthetic. Our case in point: we had a single window destroyed in our house. It was an Andersen window of an unusual dimension and original to our house built in the Vegas desert in 2000. GVS did not try to talk to us about the latest Andersen windows that didn't match the rest of our house or shove any old window in there using techniques that were incompatible with the older materials of our house. Rather, two team members came and took a good hard look at our windowsill and the surrounding wall because the purpose of a window, however pretty, is to fit perfectly into the wall, let in light yet keep our home secure. Artisan. By "builders" I mean that GVS team does focus their expertise on buildings. Usually, they are building or repairing much much larger projects than ours (such as full-on apartment buildings) but they look after a project, big or small, to ensure that it is strongly built. They did a double-check of the disposal of all the broken window glass, they did a follow-up after the window was installed to make sure that the window would work with the solar screen that we are planning to have installed. Finally, they are good communicators. Our window was actually destroyed in a home invasion and so the quick installation of the window was critical but couldn't be rushed; GVS double-checked and cleaned up the safety panel that we had temporarily installed and they checked in with us regularly because, with supply chain problems, it was going to take several months to replace the window. Not only did GVS manage to get the window ordered faster than the three other contractors from whom we got quotes; but they literally let us know where our window was every step of the way. GVS perfectly balanced well done and quickly done for our family and we're grateful.
