My partner and I recently had the opportunity to take dance lessons with Kaylin and Jonathan, and while we did learn a lot and had a great time, there were some aspects of the experience that left us feeling a bit conflicted. First and foremost, I must say that both Kaylin and Jonathan were excellent instructors. They possessed the technical knowledge and skill to teach us the intricacies of our first dance. Their expertise and patience were evident throughout the lessons, and we genuinely appreciated their dedication to helping us succeed. However, as we progressed through the 35 one-on-one classes, it became increasingly apparent that the focus shifted more towards the business and financial aspects rather than fostering a family-like atmosphere, which is something we expected from a studio associated with the Fred Astaire brand. While it's understandable that they wanted to grow their business, we couldn't help but feel that their primary motivation was profit-driven rather than a genuine passion for dance. This sentiment was reinforced by their reluctance to take our suggestions for enhancing their online presence through social media. Despite these reservations, it's important to highlight that the actual dance lessons were enjoyable and effective. Kaylin and Jonathan's expertise shone through, and we genuinely felt like we were progressing in our dance skills. The knowledge and techniques they imparted during the lessons were invaluable, and we're grateful for the foundation they helped us build. In conclusion, while Kaylin and Jonathan were undoubtedly talented instructors, the overall experience left us with mixed feelings. The emphasis on the business aspect and the reluctance to consider suggestions for improving their online presence took away from the warm and familial atmosphere we had hoped for. Nevertheless, the dance lessons themselves were excellent, and we did learn a great deal.
Jonathan was our dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, and he helped me and my sweetheart (and now-wife!) practice our first dance for our wedding. He helped us with every aspect of our first dance, and the investment was completely worth it. We got married this February and our first dance went fantastically... and we had so much fun! And that’s because of the prep-work, coaching, and lessons with Jonathan. Instead of looking nervous, we were confident and happy - and it was super romantic, and our families were truly touched. Thanks to this great dance studio, your team is the best!
