This was our first renovation on our home and we wanted to ensure we hired the right contractor. With Monk, we certainly did. We were first attracted by their reputation - a relative had done some custom picture framing for Dan Monk, was impressed by his attention to detail, and so we started following the company on Facebook. We liked what we saw and when it came time to start planning our ensuite renovation we didn't hesitate to seek a quote from Monk. When Dan and Rob McLean, project manager, visited, they were polite, understanding and very thorough in getting to know what we wanted. The estimate that they provided was detailed and made us comfortable that they were considering all aspects of the job. We really enjoyed the team that Monk brought in, the scheduling was almost like an intricate ballet and everyone worked well together. They were friendly and respectful of our home. As we suspect with any renovation, there were a few matters to be addressed, however, we were pleased that Monk was quick to resolve the matters and kept us informed throughout. We are definitely happy with the final result. Overall, the experience was very good. In fact, we returned to Monk shortly after to renovate our powder room, and we look forward to them renovating our main bathroom next year. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Monk for any of your renovation needs big or small.

So like many in Halifax in july 2023 we suffered a flood in our basement. To say we were frustrated and stressed is an understatement. The insurance company's approved repair company did a terrible job with the removal and clean up. We definitely did not want then back to do the reno. We called Monk and Dan and Michael came out to give us a quote. We felt comfortable right away with them because they were honest about what needed to be done and what was realistic to expect. Other companies said sure we can do it for what the insurance company is giving you but i knew that wasn't possible. So we went with our gut and decided to use Monk. And it was one of the decisions we have ever made. To say we are happy with the results is an understatement. They guessed 4-5 weeks and it was done in 4. The finished look is beyond our expectations. The onsite foreman Daryl was AMAZING! We are planning a kitchen remodel. And our decision on who to use is already decided. It will be Monk Renovations. The biggest part for us aside from the amazing workmanship and finished look is that they took 2 extremely stressed individuals over what was already an almost 9 month ordeal. And put us at ease, with thier professionalism and personal and friendly interactions. I can assure anyone that chooses Monk you are making the right decision. Kevin and Narissa

Recently , my wife and I chose Monk Renovations to redo our Kitchen. Our old design had become outdated and it was time. After researching companies and because of the Renovation Horror stories, we decided to contact Monk Renovations. One of the best decisions we have made in a long time. From the initial design consults through to the completion of a total gut & Rebuild, the professionalism of the Monk team was outstanding in every respect. Would we do it all over again? only if we employ the Monk team. Dan, Alex, Michael and the rest of the subs were outstanding. Highly recommended.
