132 Rio Rancho blvd NE, Rio Rancho“Absolutely love this place and I’ve only been there once, so far. Left them a message to make an appointment because my dog has been having seizures for the past few years and the other vet I was going to did nothing about it. My dad referred me to sunrise cause he takes his dog there. They were able to somehow get me in that day- which is much appreciated. Dr. Abernathy is great, well educated and caring. He explained to me that putting my dog on a seizure medication would hopefully help him in the future- which is way more than the other vet did for me. The staff there is awesome and friendly. Was a great price too. I’m so happy I finally found my pets a good, trustworthy vet. Highly recommend.“

I took my beloved dog Ralph in for excessive itching and Dr. Bill did a routine physical, upon checking Ralphs teeth he noticed SEVERE absesses. He got Ralph into surgery almost immediately and basically saved his life!! I'll forever be grateful to South Valley Animal Clinic. The price was more than fair and Dr. Bill was very clear on all procedures he administered. If Dr.Bill ever gets to read this, or his staff, please know you've saved my baby and I'll forever recommend your awesome clinic.“

7007 Jefferson St NE # D-2, Albuquerque“Wanted to leave a review for the staff and especially Dr. Kiki. I brought my cat Brooks in when she started showing signs that something was neurologically wrong. She was walking like she was drunk. The staff there first of all was so sweet and compassionate with myself and Brooks. They sent off some bloodwork to do some testing but over the weekend my Brooks stopped walking and had a seizure. After letting Dr. Kiki know what was going on, she has gone out of her way to call and check on Brooks every single day and always kept me informed on different options, especially with my limited funds. This is the first vet I’ve been to where I feel like they actually care about my cat and aren’t trying to nickel and dime me every step of the way. Today, on a combination of meds from Dr. Kiki, my Brooks was able to walk over to me (with an unsteady gait still) and head butt me and purr. A couple days ago she couldn’t even lift her head up. We still have a long road ahead of us but I know I have a clinic that has my back if need be. Thanks guys“

373 Unser Blvd SE, Rio Rancho“This review is very overdue. It's now the one year anniversary of when Dr. Trujillo and Dr. Hale diagnosed a dog that I had been desperately trying to save. I had picked him up in Alabama, literally starving to death. He unfortunately wasn't my first starvation case, but sadly his condition was far more complicated than that. Other veterinarians ran multiple tests and gave iffy answers, they tried different diets and medications; one even wanted to do exploratory surgery to see why he couldn't keep food down. This upset me greatly because I doubt he would have survived that. Dr. Trujillo and Dr. Hale ran some labs, asked a lot of questions, and came back with some idea of what was going on. He had an obstruction of the duodenum. They got us scheduled shortly thereafter for emergency surgery at Roadrunner. I was so elated to have an answer. We were all hoping that he had eaten something he shouldn't have while scavenging and that removing it would save him. Just to finish out the story, Oreo did not live. But these vets were correct about where the problem started. Unfortunately, it was tumors all the way down and there was no way to save him. But they were so compassionate and tried so hard for my Oreo. I couldn't have asked for more. Also, Dr. Trujillo made time to put one of our elderly cats to sleep when he took a downturn. I appreciate her greatly for not making him wait days to pass peacefully. Another doctor we love is Dr. Moulton. She has taken great care of several of our cats. Tooth extractions, bladder stones - you name it. She also takes great care of Bear, the dog we adopted after Oreo passed. Bear is a unique fella. He had knee surgery at Roadrunner, and Dr. Moulton keeps him pain-free with arthritis meds and keeps his seizures at bay. She also did great aftercare on our dog, Cubba, after he was attacked at a dog park (Roadrunner stitched him up since it happened on a weekend). He had several sites with stitches and Dr. Moulton was there for us anytime we had questions or concerns. We love all of the staff at Zia. They know our pets, they know us, and they are there for us when we need them. I couldn't recommend this veterinary office more!“

2018 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho“Five stars is not enough.
Mesa Grande Animal Clinic in Rio Rancho is the best veterinary clinics I have ever experienced.
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place operates differently. The front desk staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, not just polite, but truly caring. They remember you, they remember your pet, and they treat you like family rather than just another appointment on the schedule.
The doctor is absolutely amazing. He is an angel of a human being. Treated my dog like if it was his. What really sets Mesa Grande Animal Clinic apart is their compassion.
It is rare to find a clinic where trust comes so easily, but Mesa Grande has earned it completely. If you are in Rio Rancho and want the absolute best care for your pet, this is the place to go. I would not trust my dog with anyone else.“

Edit to add: I unfortunately had to put down my sweet dog last year and the staff were so kind and empathetic, one lady even crying with me while I carried my dog in. The vet handled the euthanasia very professionally and made to sure to try and shield me from the odd sounds that came from my dogs mouth after(I’m just unfortunately very observant and noticed them anyways but I do deeply appreciate her effort). They let me take all the time I needed in the room with her after she was gone. Such a painful and difficult experience was handled by all staff so wonderfully and made the situation as smooth as it can be.“

If she didn't know the answer to my questions (she was very knowledgeable about the cattle vaccines and DID know the answers for most questions), she called someone else in the company to get an answer for me. She corrected a posted price to give me a lower price for my wormer. Am happy to continue buying my livestock supplies there. Thank you, Adriana!“
