Solid training in Afro Cuban timing, rhythm and musicality. A very safe space for beginners to learn fundamentals and for more advanced dancers to practice body movement and reinforce their knowledge of timing and rhythm in Salsa as well as partnerwork foundations. All classes prepare lead/follow dancers on important foundations in footwork and partnerwork.

Hiland Dance Studio is a safe place to learn salsa and bachata; however, Abdul emphasizes connecting with one's partner and being in tune with one's body. He teaches from a place of love for the art form and his students, accepting them as they and gently pushing to expand their vocabularies. Abdul and HDS are cultural treasures! I am grateful for his generosity and wisdom.
