Located in Alamogordo, New Mexico, this gym has friendly staff and a cordial atmosphere. It features a wide selection of machines, walking options, and free weights, all kept clean and fresh. The 30-minute workout room is a comfortable space for beginners. Members appreciate that it's not a muscle gym, and the vibe is different from other gyms, with regular people just wanting to stay healthy. There is a variety of machines, and plenty of them so members don’t have to wait. The staff is friendly and works hard to keep everything running smoothly. The environment is clean and inviting, making it a safe space for those getting back into fitness or starting fresh. The facility offers clean lockers, showers, and locker rooms. However, there is room for improvement in the cleanliness of the women's side showers and water fountains. The bottle filler in the water fountain is broken, and the fountains need a thorough cleaning. Showers provide hot and warm water for 10-15 minutes, and the stalls are a little bigger than most Planet Fitness locations. Despite some minor issues, the gym has a decent music playlist, especially on Rock Friday, and the music seems to have been turned up recently, which may be for staff since most members use earbuds. The black card perks are popular, including the hydrobed and massage chairs. Overall, Planet Fitness in Alamogordo, NM, is a great gym with a good location and a wide range of exercise options, making it a recommended choice for those looking to improve fitness and stay motivated.
They’ll say anything into get you into the more expensive monthly fee which you likely don’t need. Their billing dept is useless; proceeds to dump billing issues back to the front desk which can’t do much. The gym itself is ok but they have crap music. You may not want to be a member here just cuz of that.

Yes, I would like to say overall experience is not bad. I do have to agree with other reviewers that showers would have issues where it was cold for long periods of times more than when it was warm (emphasizing warm only). Owner's response to make experience better by letting staff know is maybe limited without owner permission/approval. Example: improvement or approvals for new equipment and additions were not within the staff control without owner efforts. For example staff mentioned possible addition of plates and changes to 30 minute workout area, but no change has been made for over a year.
