Onay at Y HAIR is an excellent hairdresser. Does anyone know if he is still local because I thought I saw a for rent sign at his shop address?

Not sure why this place has such good ratings. I’ve been here twice and I find the service severely lacking. But that seems to be the norm in this neighborhood.

I went in for a basic hair color treatment, I found the hair dye chemicals to be harsh, they were stinging my eyes and burning my scalp. I could look past that, but I have NEVER been to a hair salon that after washing out the dye from my hair, told me “OK we are done”. The stylist did not bother combing my hair , applying any type of hair products, or blow drying it. Just handed me a towel told me to wipe off the excess water and then charge me $45. My hair looked better coming into the salon, then leaving it. I will NOT be returning.

A month ago, I went in for a men’s haircut and perm and I’ve gotta say: stay. away.

The reason I waited to leave a review was because I wanted to see how the hairstyle would sit after it grew out a bit.

The perming experience was, to say the least, shocking. I was permed by someone who clearly was being trained. As he permed me, he was not being guided or watched by who I assumed to be the professional stylist. He ended up doing a terrible job. He poured excess solution that dripped down to my face. I overheard store employees joking about how he used way too much solution. The barber who ended up cutting my hair even explained to him (in Chinese) that he messed up a portion of my head.

I’m incredibly disappointed at both the way my hair looks now, and at the lack of professionalism by the part of this business.

Id advise you to look elsewhere.
