The parents also learn a lot and can apply things at home as well.My daughter has been there almost a year. She is super excited to go to class and she goes 4 days a week (so you know that’s saying a lot for a kid). She has more confidence, is learning new things, has met new friends, and loves the instructors. She strives to learn more each time and learning is difficult for her. The patience that each instructor has and at different levels is beyond amazing! I had a medical emergency just watching my daughter in class one day and the care that I was shown will stay with me forever. We would be lost without the DDMA family in our lives! Thank you to each of you for everything that you do.“

We quickly signed up for classes and haven’t looked back. The instructors are amazing, patient and kind, but also hold the kids accountable. He has learned so much beyond karate and we’ve seen a huge improvement in his impulsivity, body control and discipline. He looks forward to going each week.“

Sensei has built a dojo that teaches the heart of a warrior while also teaching the techniques of empty-hand combat as well as some traditional weapons. Over thirty years ago I first walked into the dojo, scared, having been bullied daily at school, and needing a safe place. This was, at that time, the one local dojo where discipline and honor seemed equally or more important than the techniques. Sensei not only taught me how to defend myself, but more importantly taught me that in his dojo the only person who "wins" a real-life fight is the one who never has to fight in the first place. Techniques that he teaches are for defensive use only, period. I had seen students dismissed from the dojo for starting fights, but thankfully that was a very rare occurrence. Now, many of the students I had trained with assist Sensei in the instruction, and I know that in their heart they continue to teach with honor, and also with great skill.“
“We love it here. Mr. Kately is great with the kids. Excellent leadership learned as the kids help each other.“
