I had a very uncomfortable experience at Kim's Nails in Summit. While the technician was doing my nails, she asked me, in what felt like a very condescending tone, if I knew how much the nails cost. I've been getting my nails done every two weeks for years, and I've never had anyone ask me that during an appointment.
She also asked me what country my family was from. Combined with the earlier comment, it made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome rather than relaxed. The quality of a salon experience isn't just about the nails; it's also about how customers are treated. Unfortunately, this interaction left a negative impression on me. I booked an appt for my wife and I for two pedicures. The location is convenient and the space is bright with large windows up front. The service and decor missed the mark. The technicians spent most of their time chatting with each other looking at each other instead of what they were doing. That made me feel very uncomfortable. The chairs to sit on were very nice with good massage. The space could use some updating and improved cleanliness. The pedicure itself was fine. Probably 4 stars but the other elements brought it down to 3. Cost was 36 per ped before tipping.

I recently set up an event to take 12 ladies there and it went very smoothly. The owner/manager has a way to make everyone feel so welcome and also keep everything going on a timely basis. It is very clean and well run. I highly recommend Kim's nails.
