I have been coming to SLT Short Hills since maybe 2016/18 and I wanted to share why after all these years.

Pilates is having a huge moment right now. There are so many studios popping up everywhere. But my journey started over ten years ago, back when there were barely five studios in all of New Jersey. I still remember a person asking me one day where I lived, then wondering why I drive all this way. My answer was simple even though SLT is a 30 minute drive, I would never compromise the corrections, the energy, and the enthusiasm of the instructors here. Do not recommend Farah’s class as a beginner at SLT. I’ve done Pilates for months now and even took one other Lagree class and a Solidcore class prior, and I felt this class was harder to follow. For an “all levels” class, Farah shows little patience and is rather gruff when correcting you. I've been taking classes with different instructors and I have to say that Farah's class is my least favorite. I am fairly new to SLT so I appreciate feedback and correction but Farah was so condescending. Her tone and volume made it seem like she was annoyed and frustrated, so much so, that I wanted to leave mid-class. Maybe she was having a bad day, but I dont think that justifies making others, who are going out of their comfort zone, feel bad about learning something new. Allyson also gave an uninviting vibe. I will give their classes another try, but I just really hated the initial experience. On a positive note, Megan, Lucy, Jenn B., and Kelly are absolutely amazing. They are so friendly, energetic, inviting and respected the fact that everyone is on their own fitness journey, yet they still managed to kick my a*** I just wish they taught more classes!!
