The loss of a loved one brings immense waves of emotions and one of the hardest moments was planning what we knew were our final goodbyes, laying our dad, our Ma’s husband, to rest. The staff and team at Vorhess-Ingwersem Funeral Home were exceptional at the care and comfort of our family. They were patient and understanding and made this transition of life in loss smoother than expected. While not personally knowing our loved one, they put into words the most beautiful obituary and mementos to help hold the memory of our dad for not just us but all who’ve known and loved him throughout Ridgefield Park. Our biggest gratitude to all involved in the planning and three day execution of laying Raul Ortiz Sr, our Old Man, to rest. <3

On top of the tremendous grief that comes with the loss of a wife/mother, handling the final arrangements can be a tremendous weight. Thanks to Donald and Annmarie that weight was much easier to bear. I cannot find enough amazing things to say about Donald and Annmarie at Voorhees funeral home. I was very impressed with how they walked us through the funeral arrangement process carefully and very patiently. The service itself was beautiful and respectful. My mom would have been proud of her service and send-off. We are so grateful for the peach of mind and support they provided during this difficult time.

This place is amazing. Donald and Jay are saints. Its difficult enough dealing with the loss of a loved one and having to plan their arrangements, but these guys make life so much easier. Jay helped with the planning for my dads arrangements. He was an absolute sweetheart. Very detailed, down to earth, and answers any questions you may have. I cant express how much they both have made dealing with the arrangement planning the easiest experience.

These folks helped our family send off our abuela in the most beautiful way. Kind courteous staff, off street parking, easy to find, and completely accessible for our family-members with limited mobility. They helped us plan and execute services quickly. Everything from the presentation, seating arrangements, and hospitality eased our grief with the comforts of a home-like environment. And she was beautiful. They did such an amazing job with her hair, makeup, and presentation. She was visually resting peacefully. We would certainly trust them to send off another loved one in the future. We’re so grateful.
