I’m home after 17 days in Penn Medicine Princeton Health Hospital. I went in on the 15TH with sepsis from a knee infection. I couldn’t move until Wednesday the 17TH when they operated and took all the hardware out of my leg. This is the second time the bolt came out. The bolt came out of my right knee in 2019. After that I spent time in the surgical unit on the second floor! Everybody I had contact with was very nice and respectful of my needs, I had a very pleasant experience there. After a couple of days, I was going to be sent to acute rehab, and I thought they would send me to Lawrenceville Rehab (they lost their sainthood) my mom was there in 2019 and they were great. I also had the option of staying at Penn Medicine, and that was a no brainer, my Drs. were there, the OR is there, and the staff is so wonderful, they moved me to the fourth floor where I had physical therapy and occupational therapy. I can’t say enough times how great the staff were Drs, nurses, assistants, orderlies, everyone made my long stay bearable. The food was very good too, it’s a matter of knowing what to order! I came home with a PICC Line for 1 infusion a day and I get around with a walker for now, hopefully in late July or early August I’ll get my new knee. Keep a good thought!
