Dr. David Kaye saw me for the first time two weeks ago. He immediately assessed my spine injury from 30+ years ago. I presented with chronic pain and discomfort. He performed a thorough exam and reviewed the fresh X-rays. I was treated as an individual and involved with the process from start to finish, to regain a pain free state again. The previous physician ran a med-mill where patients lost their individuality, sadly at the expense of the buck. David showed sincere empathy and concern every step of the way. Dr José Canseco performed an Anterior Cervical Discectomy Fusion (ACDF) on my spine this past month. The procedure was successful and I am now undergoing the recovery/rehab phase. As important in this experience was Dr Canseco himself. A medical superstar, Dr Canseco earned a dual degree in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at MIT. For his patients, and his subsequent trainings as a spine surgeon, they were sure to be in good hands. But it is his manner, empathy and personal investment in his patient’s health is what makes him an extraordinary surgeon.
