“Writing a review for my mother in law who lives in South Orange. She has a large colonial w/ a 3 stall detached carriage house. R & G replaced both. She wanted me to write a review to let everyone know how excellent they were. They were very professional, timely, informative, and very patient with the process of her trying to get her solar panels temporarily removed. I myself was also involved in the estimate process and got to meet and speak with owner who did the site survey and he was great. The estimate was fairly priced and thorough.The roof looks spectacular. My mother in law is very happy with everything. We would both highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their roof worked on!“

“We had a leak in our bathroom and it turned out to be a hole in the vent on the roof. Jose was able to do a full roof inspection on our 100 year old slate roof and recommend some repairs. He took pictures beforehand so you can see what was wrong. We had a tanker gutter issue in the front (I had a different contractor fix the rear one a few years prior.) They were able to fix it all in a day. A few weeks later we noticed another leak (when it rains it pours!) in a different spot we had not told them about originally. They were able to come back, remove the tiles, fix the underlying problem and did it at no additional cost. I would definitely recommend them for any minor or major roofing issue.“

“I prefer to give business to the local business before I have to venture out. I was looking for a general contractor for a while and decided on Carolan contractors. So far, I have hired them for two full day jobs and I am very happy with their work. They are very courteous, knowledgeable, and worked well as a team. “We needed our roof to be replaced because of damage to it from a recent hailstorm. Erik, the head of the company, spent about two hours here during the initial inspection. That visit entailed (1) viewing the interior and exterior of the home and discussing with me past and present problem areas as a result of ice dams, water leaks and gutter issues, (2) using a drone to take photos of the roof, and (3) going up on the roof to do a close-up inspection which included taking additional photos and measuring the roof pitch in a low slope section. Afterwards, Erik offered several recommendations to help address prior issues that I had in the low-slope section and other problem areas. Erik and Eloisa, the Estimating Coordinator, worked up an extensive and detailed estimate right then and there, then Erik went over it with me with the help of the drone and other photos he had just taken so that I could visualize the plan. From an apples-to-apples perspective, Mattsson’s cost estimate was competitive w/ other estimates I received; however, I felt the plan for the roof that Erik presented was more comprehensive and would provide better long-term protection. I felt very comfortable proceeding with Mattsson for that reason, and because Erik demonstrated a high level of knowledge and expertise, as well as exceptional organizational and communication skills during that initial visit.The scope of the work, which included replacement of four skylights as well as the entire roof, took about 2.5 days to implement. (Gutter replacement took another 0.5 days and this was done separately by a gutter installation subcontractor retained by Mattsson.) Besides Erik and Eloisa, the Mattsson team included Craig (Production Manager), Mike (Field Supervisor) and Rudy (Controller and Site Supervisor). There was always a site manager onsite when work was ongoing who was responsible for overseeing overall progress and ensuring that safety procedures were followed. Having a designated site manager on the job also facilitated communication between the workers and other personnel when additional materials needed to be brought onsite, and this was done in a timely fashion. When I had questions, these were always responded to promptly via text or phone. In addition, throughout the course of the work, I received real-time updates, which often included drone and other photos, to keep me apprised of the work progress. The cleanup was also very good. My roof was about 2,500 sq ft and a good part of it had a second layer of shingles, so a lot of materials came off my roof. After the cleanup, I walked around the perimeter with a five-gallon bucket in which to place materials that were not picked up and removed. I was anticipating that the bucket would be at least half full of debris, but after I completed my walk, I barely had an inch of debris in the bucket. Very clean indeed!In addition to the above, Erik was very helpful in reviewing my home insurance company’s roof replacement estimate and providing information to me and my claims adjuster to support my claim. I also received an extensive collection of photos and videos of the job after it was completed, which will no doubt be useful in the future should I need to remember or document what was done. Moreover, throughout the process, every member of the Mattsson team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, courtesy, and pride in their work. Of all the companies I interviewed, Jermaine was the only one to come out to my building on time, send me a formal quote and follow up.Not only did Jermaine quote a more detailed repair of my roof, but his price was within our budget, he didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of work that didn't need to be done.When the work was scheduled the payment schedule was explained and the work started on time. I complain that all my gutters were full of gravel that came onto the grass which was a ton of gravel The foreman advised me that they will have someone come and re-check the roof but then the pandemic hit and no one came to check my roof three years later when the pandemic was over I had someone come and inspect my roof and they told me that it was in terrible shape and it needed to be replaced. “Flori came and helped me with my gas fireplace. I had a different company come and inspect my fireplace, they charged me $400 and wanted to do another inspection for $800 more. “I needed 2 layers of roof ripped off and replaced and decided to get new gutters as well. I had gotten 6 estimates and All Professional’s was right in the middle but with the added advantage of the BBB A+ rating and GAF master elite certification. They were able to start the following week. When they took off my roof(s), unfortunately all the plywood was completely rotted but Mike immediately advised me of what he had found and showed me videos he had taken.
