“My stylist, Sha Mula, really deserves her flowers. She’s one of the best in Newark, hands down. From the moment you step into her shop, you feel the early 90s vibe—warm, nostalgic, and welcoming. She specializes in braids and locs, and her work always comes out clean, neat, and professional. A re-twist or braid-up is only $60–$70, which is way lower than what most locticians and braiders are charging these days.
What makes it even more special is that people in the hair industry go through extreme stress and often don’t get paid what they truly deserve. Stylists put in long hours on their feet, deal with tough schedules, and sometimes don’t get the recognition they should. Sha doesn’t even get as many clients as she deserves, yet she never lets that stop her. She keeps her prices fair and continues showing up with the same level of love and dedication every time.
The best part is her spirit—she’s always nice to everyone who sits in her chair. No matter who you are, she treats you with respect, patience, and kindness. That kind of energy makes the experience just as good as the finished style.
Sha Mula is more than just a stylist—she’s an artist, a professional, and someone who genuinely cares about her clients. Newark is lucky to have her. ?✨“
