“Let me start off by saying I’m a creature of habit. I’ve been going to the same hairdresser for over ten years. I wear my hair long (about shoulder length) and usually keep it tied in a bun. A family member had been recommending Gold Star for months, and I finally gave in, mostly because it's an hour closer than where I used to go.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It looked like a regular neighborhood barbershop. But Gold Star is a hidden gem. I booked an appointment with Bruce, the owner, and I honestly can’t say enough good things. Bruce was diligent and really attentive to what I wanted. I gave him a pretty vague idea of the look I was going for, and he somehow took that and gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. Truly a master of his craft!

On top of that, Bruce is super friendly and makes the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. You can tell he takes pride in his work and in the community around him.

My appointment was set for 1:15, but by 1:35 I still hadn’t received any confirmation from Ryan. This lack of communication and respect for customers’ time is unacceptable and makes me question whether I should continue coming here.

“I just got finished with my haircut with Bob. Bob is by far the BEST barber i’ve ever met or had talked to. The moment i walked in the door he greeted me exceptionally well, he was super welcoming! He even included me in conversations as well as other people that walked in. We all started talking together and everyone felt cozy and comfortable talking about their experience or thoughts (based on the subject). Bob is very joyful, happy and funny. He will always make you smile or laugh, there was never a dull moment since I stepped foot inside.

I just moved to the area and i’m 24, i was skeptical at first since majority of the reviews were from older men but boy was i wrong. Bob has outperformed every single other barber i’ve ever went to. I never write reviews but after feeling the energy and authenticity I knew I had to.
