Finally had a chance to use Catanio Lock after many years in Jersey City. For those who just moved into the neighborhood, changing your door locks or rekey should be your top priority. If you are handy, you can bring your cylinder and have it rekeyed. Richard and Greg are both very courteous, fair, and great to work with. The shop is unique with an old-world vibe.My cylinder rekeys service was cut precisely and Greg made sure that every part operated smoothly before returning it to me. Greg Ribot at Catanio Lock is fantastic, he leaves no stone unturned. As he said, it would be lazy to simply replace a lock (which is expensive and would require research to find a matching fit). Instead he figured out there were three separate issues contributing to jamming the front door lock and explained everything.He also made duplicates of the one working key we have which is hard because it is so worn. I assumed things were sticky because something needed to be shaved off but he went in the opposite direction, more conservative, saying he could always shave something further if it didn't work. Turned out to be the right choice, his duplicates are flawless.
