Aoua's Braids

I initially went to another braid shop but was advised that they were full. I quickly googled braid shops near me and came across A'oua's Perfect Braids. When I called A'oua's, I was told to try back at 5pm; however, the owner immediately called me back, requesting that I come right then. Upon arrival, I did not wait too long and I was satisfied with my hair. I have been to a couple of braid shops within the past 6 months and what I appreciate about A'oua's is that (1) the area is clean, (2) the workers are pleasant, (3) my braids were not too tight, and (4) the price is reasonable. The biggest inconvenience for me was the parking: I had to park 3 blocks away. Overall, I feel that this place was a great choice for me, and I plan to return. Thanks Fatu for the great hairstyle!

I got waist long knotless braids last year and was super happy with the results. Even though I have been getting braids since a toddler, I have always been super tender headed and tend to avoid them as a result. However, the woman who braided my hair was able to do an excellent job while being super gentle. I didn't even need to take Ibuprofen after lol. I would definitely recommend them.Services: Braids

I would have loved to give this place a better review but an employee/ family member should not be allowed to do children's hair @ this establishment. This employee was very unprofessional and disrespectful. Upon walking in she was eating her food as we waited until she was finished she did not go and wash her hands. Her demeanor was very off just aggressively grabbing the baby's hair. So I asked does the braids hurt if so please please be gentile because both girls were sensitive to heavy hands. She rolled her eyes sucked her teeth and said oh no these kind of braids don't hurt. As she got to the top I asked please the next row began to make the side part. This is my child and the hair style is what I'm looking for. She asked me excuse me do you do hair? telling her yes I do she again rolls her eyes not following the instructions I gave her for the baby's hair. Now at the top and the part can't be applied to the side I asked for it to be on she got very irate slapping her hands and yelling at the owner. She told me let me I know what I'm doing! I now explain to the owner and her response was she didn't understand the request or what I was asking for. grabs the baby's hair and I told her if you have a attitude please don't take it out on my child. Swears in her language and slaps the comb down and says I'm done. This woman was very aggressive. Honestly if children weren't involved this day would have ended very differently. This woman won't always be so lucky that a parent won't beat her to the white meat for her disrespectful Behavior! Keep her away from children's hair until she can control herself and know what customer service is and if she can't provide it she should definitely get into another line of work. Although the owner /head stylist finished the girls hair and tried to keep us both at ease she never gave an apology for her unruly employee! Family and business don't mix when your family doesn't have respect for your business get rid of them!
