Dan Dowling of NJ DOGS Training LLC has made a truly life-changing difference in our home. He worked with our two dogs, Enzo and Molly, at a time when we were dealing with frequent fighting, resource guarding, excessive barking, jumping, pulling on the leash during walks, and a general lack of listening. After struggling with my 14-month-old German Shepherd and getting nowhere with a previous trainer, I was feeling hopeless. Then I started working with Dan, and after just three sessions, everything changed! He corrected old habits and properly taught my dog “place,” crate (“house”), leash walking, respect, and how to stay calm around other dogs, people, and even children on bikes.

We brought our 3-year-old, 93-pound Labrador retriever, Archie, to NJ DOGS Training LLC because he was starting to show some possession aggression and wasn’t always listening to commands. Dan completely changed how we understand and communicate with him.
He taught our family how to give Archie structure, clear rules, and accountability while keeping things fun and positive. We learned how to use the place command to give Archie a job to focus on, how to communicate through play and tug, and how to make training part of our daily life instead of something separate.
