I got my black belt with Master Ken over ten years ago when I was a teenager. A few months ago I was attacked by a stranger who forced his way into my home while I was alone. The teachings that I practiced with Master Ken came right back even after all those years and I was able to successfully defend myself and get the intruder out of my home. I used to think of my time training as a fun hobby but now as an adult I understand the importance of young women learning practical self defense. I hope that many others can learn from Master Ken and keep themselves safe!

Master Ken is excellent with the children of all ages. He teaches not only self defense, but confidence and respect as well.

For almost 9 years, I've been part of Master Ken's Xtreme Martial Arts Center. I joined when I was 5, initially just looking for a way to stay active and have some fun. However, as the years passed, Taekwondo became much more than just a weekly class for me. It's been a source of mental and physical growth.Regular attendance at Taekwondo has positively impacted various aspects of my life. It's not just about kicks and punches; it's about building self-confidence, managing stress, sharpening focus, encouraging discipline, and overall strengthening my well-being. Looking back, I'm grateful that I started Taekwondo at such a young age because it played a significant role in my personal development.Now, as a Black Belt and a member of Master Ken’s Leadership Team, I can assure to the numerous skills and maturity I've gained under Master Ken's guidance. His polite, patient, and dedicated approach to Taekwondo has been unwavering, even during challenging times. Walking into his class, I'm greeted with a welcoming smile, along with genuine and respectful interactions with everyone. I've known Master Ken and have been training with him for almost 9 years. Not only is Master Ken an enthusiastic teacher, but he ensures that his students get the best experience. It's hard finding true honesty in words for reviews, especially coming from a teen such as myself. I came here when I was 10 years old, I was going through a rough period in my life and my mother wanted me to transfer to another dojo. At that time I was doing the "kay-rah-tee" and it was a harlequins bad joke. So coming here as a depressed 10 year old, I wasn't keen in finding reconciliation with my skills. Until I really got to know the sensei running it, Master Ken Lee. Now that I am almost 17, I can not only thank my mother but Master Ken: a caring, patient, yet stern and disciplined man who knows what he is talking about. Unlike my past teachers who read one book and think they know everything. Me and him had times where it was just the two of us and we just talked like normal people, and that to me, is the most teacher thing I have experienced. I learned many things about his culture, past, and his principles. I found out as well that we actually had alot of things in common like a love for movies and history. He is someone who also does not slack off when it comes to the respect needed to be in the dojo. If you don't like being bossed around, then there are better reviews than this. I am trying to be the most I can with this, but the 5 stars don't lie here. This is an excellent place to help develop young children and teens such as myself. Nuff said.

I’ve been going to taekwondo for over a year and it is great!
