Based on the reviews, Hackensack VA Clinic is a place where patients have had both outstanding and frustrating experiences. Many have used the clinic for years and appreciate the doctors, who are described as fantastic, comprehensive, and thorough. The staff are great, professional, and treat patients with empathy and care. However, there are some problems. The phone can take a long time to get a live person. The clinic has no drugs on site, so everything is sent through the mail, requiring a trip to East Orange for faster needs. It is not a one-stop shop; patients often must see a specialist in East Orange. Appointments have been canceled an hour before arrival, which is difficult for those who live more than an hour away. Despite this, the clinic took a patient in right away for an emergency visit, though results are hit and miss.
I’ve been using these people for a couple of years, they treated me professionally with empathy and care. My only complaint is that last year they canceled the appointment on me an hour before I got there, and I live more than an hour away.
I absolutely love coming to this clinic. I've been using their services for 15 years and have had nothing but outstanding experiences. I really don't understand some of the negative reviews listed here. It's so easy to get an appointment, it's easy to get a real person on the phone to discuss issues, I never wait when I do arrive for an appointment. The doctors are fantastic and comprehensive. They ask me about every issue I've ever had and do thorough follow up. Any potential treatments are offered. I'd actually prefer to go here than any of the local private doctors I've been to.
The problem s are the phone can take long time to get live person on phone,2nd thing they have no drugs there everything is sent through mail so if u need it fast u must go to east orange to get it,3rd they are generally practicing so if u have a problem u have to see a specialist in E Orange, so not a 1 stop shop,the people are nice seem very busy.altho they took me in right away on emergency vist so kinda hit and miss,and then sent to va hospital .
