Fanwood Animal Hospital has been absolutely incredible in caring for my Australian Shepherd, Maverick. From every routine visit to more serious concerns, the entire team consistently goes above and beyond. The veterinarians and staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in Maverick’s health and well-being. They take the time to listen, explain options clearly, and make sure both pet and owner feel comfortable and confident. Maverick is always treated with such kindness and patience, and it’s clear he’s not “just another patient” to them. Knowing he’s in such capable, loving hands gives me complete peace of mind. We have been part of the Fanwood Animal Hospital family since 2014 with our dog Morgan, and since 2019 with Lilly. Over the last decade, we have navigated some incredibly difficult health journeys, and I can say with absolute certainty that we couldn’t have done it without this team. What makes Fanwood Animal Hospital so special is the genuine care and dedication shown by all of the veterinarians and the entire support staff; it is rare to find a practice where the level of excellence and empathy is so consistent across the board.
The doctors have been brilliant and thorough as they helped us navigate complex challenges including atypical Addison’s disease, Lyme disease, kidney disease, hip dysplasia, a cruciate injury, and currently osteosarcoma. In every instance, from managing delicate endocrine issues to dealing with chronic orthopedic and renal concerns, they have treated the whole dog while providing immense support to us as owners.
The technicians and front desk staff are wonderful, always remaining kind, organized, and truly happy to see Morgan and Lilly. It provides so much peace of mind knowing that no matter which member of the team we see, our dogs are receiving the highest standard of medical expertise and heart-centered care. If you are looking for a veterinary team that will stand by you through both the routine visits and the most difficult diagnoses, I cannot recommend Fanwood Animal Hospital enough.

The best animal hospital you could ever hope for. Dr Lam is wonderful. My dog is very nervous at the vet until he sees her. Everyone is so helpful and supportive, and you know as a pet owner we are very passionate about our animals. It is so comforting to see that they feel the same way.

My partner and I are newlyweds and recently decided to bring home a 3-month-old puppy. We truly had no idea what we were signing up for, and while we’re still very much in the adjustment phase, we couldn’t be more grateful that we found this animal hospital. We took our pup here yesterday, mainly because it’s close to home, and walked out feeling incredibly relieved and impressed.
From the moment we called to schedule the appointment to the moment we left, every part of the experience was exceptional. Dr. Burke and Vanessa were unbelievably patient with our countless questions, and both of them, along with the rest of the staff, showered our puppy, Lucy, with so much affection. I’m pretty sure she walked out feeling like a little celebrity.
I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Burke. His knowledge, his calm demeanor, and his genuine love for animals immediately put us at ease. And even before we met him, Vanessa, who is also a fellow Cavalier owner, shared such thoughtful advice that meant a lot to us as first-time puppy parents.
