Vlad's Hair Studio

The Pros. I was happy with the haircuts. The salon offered a variety of services at an affordable price. It is more affordable than a lot of the other salons. It was easy to get an appointment. The location was convenient, however Vlad's Hair Studio then moved to the other side of town. The negatives. The customer service and business practices were bad. I started to have trouble with Vlad's sister Mila from the first time I got my haircut there. The unprofessional, nasty, mean spirited, rude, unwanted, embarrassing, and harassing comments that Vlad's sister Mila made to me ruined the customer experience and relationship. Mila treated me very badly. Vlad was on her side. If she were not Vlad's sister, she would not be allowed to talk to a customer like that. I was not able to get a haircut with her in peace. She made those comments in a public hair salon where other people could hear it. She continued to force those horrible comments on me after I told her that it was making me uncomfortable. Comments that she made to me during the first time I got my hair cut with her had also disturbed me. Mila's only concern should have been the business and customer service. The signs were strong that Mila may have allowed a former hair stylist who was also a manager at a nearby salon to use her to harass me me about an issue and to continue with the trouble that she gave me at her salon. Mila used her exact words and made the same kind of harassing, unwanted, and embarrassing comments. The unwanted and harassing comments that Mila made to me had verbally escalated and was even more harassing and embarrassing. I left the last salon to get away from the harassment of the former hair stylists and it continued at the Vlad's Hair Studio. The former hair stylist would have been the one making the rude and harassing comments if I had remained her customer. I was very shocked. Mila abused her position and misused information. It was a problem that Mila was Vlad's sister. Mila also wanted to overcharge me for a haircut. Vlad had charged me the correct price for the haircut for the rest of 2021. In 2022, Mila had charged me more for the haircut and said that the prices went up. Vlad supported it. The pricing on the website never went up until the end of May. Vlad first told me that the pricing on the website was going to go up in September and he would have to talk with the stylist to see how much I would be charged for a haircut. It went up in May instead. Vlad even increase the price of the perm, but it never went up on the website until the end of May. On my last visit. Vlad also charged me a fee for paying with a credit card. That is three times within 5 months that the prices went up. Vlad and Mila took advantage of the pricing and exploited it. They kept finding excuses to charge me more money for a haircut. Vlad was letting Mila have her way with the pricing. The pricing was very inconsistent. After I made a complaint about the horror that happened with Mila, Vlad sent me a disturbing message and wanted me to make a phone appointment with him. He then sent a nasty message that I was never welcomed at the Vlad Hair Studio again and that things are not changing. It was scary that Vlad was messaging me passed 11PM which is way past business hours. I would have given this Vlad's a 5 star rating if the management and customer service had not been so bad. Vlad and his sister Mila treated me badly and gave me crap. I noticed that some of the other bad customer reviews that had been posted on Google are gone. Not too honest. I regret ever returning to the Vlad Hair studio. It is ashamed that this happened. I did love the haircuts.

I’ve been going to Vlad for about 7 years even though I live in Ridgewood. My whole family goes here. Vlad cuts my husband and boys hair. Ayet cuts my hair and Mila cuts my sister’s hair. Vlad and his sister Mila has been in fair lawn for years and Ayet has been with them for a long time. All the stylists are wonderful and nice. Amazing people and service. Can’t say enough about them. Love them :).

I go to Ayet. She is tremendous. I would follow her where ever she goes.

Ayet is very good 4 stars. Good prices 5 stars. Atmosphere/friendliness meh, 2-3 stars. Shampoo stinks like perfume/harsh 1 star.

I have been coming to this same hair salon for a solid 15 years now. I may have moved farther, but I will make sure that I make my way to come to this salon every time. Mila is always been my trusted hairstylist and she is so fantastic! She cuts my hair with care rather than rushing through it, and recommends some ideas if needed. Mila will also spends time with his clients and will make adjustments slowly.

They also have a website that is easy to navigate and for your convenience of setting up appointment. The owner Vlad and other hairstylists are always very welcoming and friendly which you can put your trust in this place.

I've been going to this salon for at least 11 years... was getting my highlights, color, haircuts and other amazing hairdos done by Mila..3 years ago I had to move out from the area, to the area that is approx. 1,5 hours away from Vlad's...i tried 6 different salons around my new place...they ruined my hair completely I was so devastated, my hair means a lot to me!!! I went back to my lovely professional girl Mila,her approach is absolutely professional ?. My hair after her always looks healthy, shiny, easy to manage, up-to-date!!! Even if I get highlights or balayage done she makes sure that my hair looks always healthy and shiny:) She makes the job that others do for 6 hours within 1-2 hours! I love that.
I always get so many compliments from people around :) Thank you Mila for being so exclusive and professional. You're truly the best!
