Today, I had a heartfelt experience at Wellness Physical Therapy in 400 Sylvan Avenue, 2nd Fl, Englewood Cliffs, NJ. After going through a traumatic life event last year, I’ve been dealing with severe neck and shoulder pain likely due to stress. A friend recommended this clinic, so I walked in for a consultation with my UnitedHealthcare insurance.

The clinic is conveniently located, beautifully designed, and incredibly clean—more like a high-end spa than a typical PT office. The staff was welcoming, and I met Dr. Kevin Kim, who took the time to evaluate my condition.

I learned something frustrating: my insurance has a very high deductible, and I would need to pay out-of-pocket for possibly over 40 sessions ($175 each) before coverage even starts. I was visibly disappointed, exhausted, and in pain.

Dr. Kim saw how I was feeling and said, “Since you’re here, let’s take care of you today.” And he offered me treatment completely free of charge, just out of compassion.
