“At PT, which is usually quiet on Saturdays, a patient came in loudly talking on speakerphone and disrupting the peaceful environment despite multiple posted “No Cell Phone Use” signs. Arthur, the lead physical therapist, calmly and respectfully asked the patient to end the call so PT could begin. The patient became aggressive and confrontational, but Arthur remained professional and composed, helping to deescalate what could have become a physical altercation. Reassigning the patient to Oliver afterward was a smart and professional move that further helped diffuse the situation. Oliver handled the transition smoothly, and both therapists demonstrated excellent professionalism under pressure.“
