“As an ophthalmologist, I was sent a child who complained of a day of bilateral vision loss, worse than 20/400 in each eye. I examined her and she had a normal eye exam; I could not diagnose any medical problems, and I was debating sending the child to the ER for a possible MRI. So I referred her to Dr Sheryl Silverman urgently after hours. Within 5 minutes of seeing the child, Dr Silverman was able to diagnose a non-organic visual loss, which she immediately fixed with a very mild power nearsighted/plano glasses. She has the rare combination of clinical skills and bedside manner, especially with children.“
