Matou's Natural African Hair Braiding

I’ve gotten my hair braided here a couple or few times before, and I’m going back tomorrow. I love it there…great results.

This shop was so unprofessional I don’t even get on here & do all this and I love supporting my black people this all stem because I said I wanted my front of my head parts close to my ears to be smaller my hair is thick 4c it don’t last the daughter told me off saying don’t call her phone, she knows her work, don’t tell her what to do etc. (mind u the back of my head was already finished) so I didn’t wanna walk out I was desperate for my head to be done every other place was booked this is a Thursday a Hot summer day and I took off from work to get my hair done so I needed it done bad been walking around with scarf on my head for weeks waiting baby sitter for kids mothers get it. Anyways the daughter that’s in the review picture standing was rushing on my hair to meet a man at 3pm at the mall who she called on the phone and started doing my braids bulky. They also had roaches in their shop running across the floor, don’t wash hands from after a meal it’s very disgusting not very sanitary when I came home I took a shower immediately and I had to dump everything out my purse to make sure I don’t bring bugs into my home ! The Braider had no courtesy she told me to put my purse on the floor how foolish of her ! once we got done my hair I called her mother to tell her what happened of what her daughter have done all she cared about was her business and me spreading the word for her business so I am spreading the word now DO NOT GO to MATU she didn’t care how I felt she said only thing she can say is sorry take it or leave it. I been going to her shop for years since I was a child age 6. This is a very rude African familythis have never happened to me in my life I have ran into many Africans who was nice and welcomed DO NOT GO TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE!

I went in for straight back braids omg these braids look a hot mess ,I have super thick hair , & the part to hair ratio is very unbalanced . my braids are huge, parts uneven , and the tails are super skinny , why would you braid my hair and allow my kitchen to show from the sides ? lol but what pissed me off was the braider picked up a visibly dirty greasy comb and tried to use it on my head I shouldn’t have to tell you to use clean combs and the owner was present which made me write this review that was my first and last time coming here .

0 out of 10 Don’t Recommend! I asked for medium knotless braids. I got knots and some were knotless. My middle part was wasn’t straight. I complained to the manager over the phone. She got smart first but then asked me to come up so she can see my hair. She even apologized and said my hair wasn’t right. I took my braids out 2 days later because she said she will make the girl redo them. When I took my hair out my real hair came out in the back. I was so upset that I didn’t even want to go back to get them to get it redone. Long story short I went back to get them redone but another lady did them. She did them way better and the right way. But I’m so pissed about my first experience there that I would never go back. I will say every braider in there is not bad but one of them is or guess when she tired/feeling lazy she does a terrible job! There’s way too many other braiding shops in camden that you can go to that does wayyy better for the same price! I would post pics but I’m Not going to go that far.

They ok. The owner Is nice and the place was so so. My braids were good just not exactly what I asked for but they came out good so I did not complain..
